The Editorial Committee requests that Authors refer to the documents provided below when preparing their paper for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
First Draft Papers are due by April 30, 2011 and need to be submitted online.
Please note: your paper should not exceed 10 pages.
Mine Closure 2011 Conference Proceedings
The conference proceedings will feature all of the papers written and presented during the conference. The proceedings will be printed in black and white and presented to all conference delegates at this year's conference. The proceedings will also be available through the ACG post-event.
Please be advised that your paper can only be published in the Mine Closure 2011 conference proceedings if we receive a signed copyright permission agreement. Only one author needs to sign it and forward it along with your final paper to Sheri Watt . Please note that the copyright belongs to the Australian Centre for Geomechanics (ACG).
Language Requirements
Authors whose native language is not English are strongly advised to arrange editing of their paper by a professional translator prior to submission. Papers with critical language flaws will not be considered for review and will be returned to authors for further editing. Language appropriate for an international technical publication must satisfy the following requirements:
- Correct grammar, careful construction of sentences, and syntax
- Ideas flow naturally and logically, are easy to read and follow
- Vocabulary is appropriately used (variety of vocabulary, consistent meanings)
- Expressions are clear and concise (avoid redundancy, wordiness, jargon,
evasiveness, overuse of passive voice)

Author Registration
- Only papers of attending authors will be included in the technical program and published in the conference proceedings.
- At least one author per article must be fully registered with the fees paid in full by June 1, 2011.

Presentation Information
Once your paper is accepted, you will be required to prepare a PPT presentation to feature at Mine Closure 2011. You will be sent a PPT presentation template to use when preparing your presentation, upon confirmation of acceptance.
Should your presentation contain unusual software, and/or embedded animations/movies, etc., please forward your PPT to Sheri Watt at sheri_watt@golder.com for checking by Monday, September 5, 2011. Please include all linked media files - movies, sounds, data - as separate files. As a back up you may wish to bring your own laptop to use in case the Mine Closure 2011 event laptop is unable to play your presentation properly.
Please bring with you a copy of your final PPT presentation that you are giving and any software, movie files, etc., that are required. All presentations will be copied onto the Mine Closure 2011 event laptop prior to event commencement.
Please forward your career biographical notes so that we can introduce you to the attendees (see examples).
Audiovisual
The following audiovisual equipment will be available at the conference: Data projector (for PPT presentation), screen, remote mouse and a microphone. Please advise us if you require any other audiovisual equipment, e.g. overhead projector.
